Serves 4, ready in 30 minutes plus chilling time


  • 200g fresh white crabmeat (used canned if you can’t find fresh)
  • 200g white fish fillet (e.g. cod or halibut), roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp mild curry powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp red onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
  • 1 small egg, beaten
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Low-calorie cooking spray
  • Fresh coriander, chopped, red pepper and lemon wedges, finely chopped, to garnish
  • Fat-free natural yoghurt, to serve


Place the crabmeat, white fish, curry powder, garlic, red chilli, red onion, coriander and egg in a food processor. Season and process for a few seconds until mixed well. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Cover and chill in the fridge for 5-6 hours (or overnight) to allow the mixture to firm up and let the flavours combine.

Preheat the oven to 200C/Fan 180C/Gas Mark 6.

Line a baking tray with non-stick baking parchment and spray with
low-cal spray. Divide crab mixture into 12 portions and shape each one into a cake.

Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned and cooked through. Serve garnished with coriander, red pepper and lemon wedges with the yoghurt on the side to dip into.
