Before I say anything else this is NOT syn free but it is a hell of a lot less syns than ‘normal’ pizza and tastes as good and is SO easy to make. I’d like to thanks my friend from work Cath and her husband for giving me the recipe for the dough I just had to try it.
The recipe makes a really quick pizza dough no waiting for dough to rise or fiddling with yeast it couldn’t be easier.
You can pile on all the toppings lean ham, bacon, peppers, onion, mushrooms any veg you like really and use your healthy extra for the cheese and use my syn free pizza sauce you can have a whole dinner plate sized pizza for 16 syns, You can of course have 1/2 a pizza with a load of slimming world chips and salad for only 8 syns.
It tastes just like real pizza!
First put your oven on the highest temperature it will heat to then…..
For the dough
100g self raising flour
100g fat free greek yogurt
Mix them all together to make a dough and knead briefly to make a smooth dough.
1 carton passata
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
2 cloves garlic (crushed ) or 1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until reduced and thickened. Leave to cool.
(only need two tablespoons of this for the pizza you can keep the rest in the fridge for a week or freeze it its good with pasta too)
Roll out the dough with a little more flour if you need it and it should roll out to make a pizza about the size of dinner plate. Place it on a flat baking tray.
Spread about 2-3 tbsp of the pizza sauce on top of the dough then add all your lovely syn free toppings.
Add your healthy extra of grated cheese.
Place in your oven and cook for about 10 minutes but check after about 8 minutes until the cheese is cooked and the crust is brown.
Serves 1 person and is 16 syns on extra easy
